An existing manual door can usually be converted rather than replaced, which is the quickest and cheapest route to meeting your duty under the Equality Act 2010.
A conversion keeps the door, the frame and the finish you already have. It is less disruption on a live site, less waste into a skip, and it is often the difference between an accessible entrance this month and an accessible entrance next financial year.

Why a conversion usually wins
Replacing a door set means the frame, the finish, the ironmongery and often the floor. Fitting an operator to the leaf already hanging means none of that. On a live site that is the difference between a week of hoarding and a morning of work.
It is also the fastest route to an accessible entrance. Where the duty under the Equality Act 2010 is pressing and the budget is not, a conversion is normally the answer, and we will tell you at survey if the door or frame is not up to it.
